iDon'tBelieveIt

My previously trusty 40Gb 4th Gen Click-Wheel iPod (which has probably been my constant companion over the past year) has given up the ghost after 19 months. According to the Guardian, Apple may even be breaking the law in producing products which appear to be designed to break after the warranty runs out...
However angry I am, I can't seem to get over the fact that, even though it was over £230 quid (Duty Free, I admit), it's still been incredible value.. given the number of hours I day I used it, and the number of plane journeys that it nursed me through, I'm rather sad to see it go. What makes it worse is the rather folorn noise it now makes when attempting to boot up. It's like listening to a record player that can't seem to find its groove...
Rather than boycott Apple (as I probably should), I've even upgraded to the 60Gb iPod. More fool me, I guess.

Bone lamp

I certainly won't be the first to comment on this lamp, but I'm unlikely to be the last. Materious Design have created this Bone Lamp, based on the internal construction of bird bones.
The large degree of negative space, as well as its "structual efficiency", was the inspiration for these Chigo-based designers. The lamps themselves are actually made from recycled PVC tubing.
Functional, beautiful, and based in nature. What more can you ask for?
